I am an award-winning business-focused executive creative director with a background in publishing and media. Over the years, I have developed design strategy, identity, and creative work for more than 70 brands across a wide range of business sectors, covering print, digital, and event channels and globally from London to Moscow, and Hong Kong to New York.
Today, I apply this experience to a wide variety of communication and branding projects from identity to websites, books, and magazines. I am passionate about understanding the cultural and aesthetic values of my clients, their audience, and their customers, and developing creative strategies that connect and communicate effectively—building both brand engagement and business growth.
Design thinking sits at the heart of my practice. I work with CEOs and their leadership teams to develop design strategy that brings their commercial plans to life. Much of my work involves custom briefs for clients who need creative direction on a project-by-project basis, such as for new business development and pitches.
I also provide design management services, working with executive teams to offer creative director-level services or to oversee communication strategies and brand channels. This consultancy may focus on a single issue identified by the client, or address multiple, often interconnected, challenges, such as creative benchmarking, team structure, change management, mentoring, and more.
My work has been awarded by D&AD, the Type Directors Club, the Art Directors Club, the Society of Publication Designers, the Society of News Design, the British Book Design and Production Awards, and the Periodical Publishers Association (PPA). And has been featured in Creative Review, Print, Graphis, NPR (National Public Radio), and the G.F Smith Paper Journal.

The typeface used across my website is David Jonathan Ross's Forma DJR, a striking revival of the classic Italian sans serif released by the Italian foundry Nebiolo in 1968. The original face was created by a team of eight designers led by Aldo Novarese and including Franco Grignani, Giancarlo Iliprandi, Bruno Munari, Ilio Negri, Till Neuburg, Luigi Oriani, and Pino Tovaglia.
