Several years ago, I began photographing the windows of high street stores that had ceased trading. Captivated by the abstract qualities of the white-washed panes, these images culminated in Closed: A Reflection on the High Street, a limited edition broadsheet newspaper.
This work serves as a poignant reflection on the decline of the high street, encapsulating broader social and economic issues facing our society. Through the lens of these stark and haunting images, Closed invites viewers to contemplate the impact of retail closures on community identity and economic vitality, offering a critical commentary on contemporary consumer culture.
